  • The two- and three-loss teams you don’t know enough about

Wichita State (16-3). The most dangerous of all the teams listed here? It’s possible. But the Shockers are also streaky. They’ve got five road/neutral wins already, which I like, but what gives with the loss to Creighton and a 15-point beatdown to Illinois State? I know the Missouri Valley is a notch above this year, but that’s no excuse. WSU had four players in the MVC’s top 40 in scoring. They’ve always been multi-faceted like this. If they dance: 10-seed.

He's right. The sCUm loss is a huge RPI blow and could be one of the reasons to keep us out. Of course there's plenty of time to add to that list as well..
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

      CU

Much as I hate to say anything that could be construed as props to Creighton, by the time the season is over WSU's loss at Omaha will not be as bad as it looks now.

I have the same question for Doug Elgin and the Zebra idiots that did the game.

          Then Creighton better start winning.

If we are the most dangerous why does he say a 10th seed when he gives UAB a 9th?
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

I don't know his reasoning, but I'll tell you right now that if I were to be given the choice of being a 9-seed or a 10-seed in the NCAA Tournament I would choose to be the 10-seed probably 95% of the time. There seems to be one 2-seed every year that gets knocked out in the 2nd round. Rarely does a 1-seed get knocked out in the 1st weekend of the tournament. Being a 10-seed in my mind would give you a better chance of advancing further in the tournament than being a 9-seed does.

Keep in mind that an 8 or 9 seed, imho, amost PROMISES a potential 2nd round match up against a team residing a little over 2 hours north of Wichita on I-35.

The committee will be like that.

If we get an at-large, I see us as a 10-13 seed. Win the tourney, maybe 8 or 9. I haven't looked it up but maybe UAB has better wins, better SOS, better RPI? Maybe not. There conference has a better RPI than the Valley too. I also think that if he had us projected as a higher seed, we may not be in this article because people would have been talking about us a little more. We wouldn't be one of these "sleeper" teams.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with you, just throwing some thoughts out there for discussion.

Very true, however being a 7 or 10 seed could possibly do the same. The opponent would just be from a place a little further west.

Just my opinion, but I think I'd prefer the match-up with KU to that of KSU.

                        Anybody else feel that way?

Id' prefer the team we beat in the scrimmage.

We may or may not have beat them in the scrimmage, but if you look at how both are playing right now, I would much prefer KU. However, a month for now everything could be different.
